The Minneapolis School Based Clinics (SBC) is a program of the Minneapolis Health Department. The program operates eight school based clinics located within Minneapolis Public Schools and has provided adolescent friendly, culturally responsive health care for over 40 years. The model improves the lives of adolescents by providing a full range of holistic health services. SBCs are a vital community resource that centers youth and supports adolescent health and well-being.
The Minneapolis School Based Clinics offer comprehensive health services for Minneapolis high school students regardless of their ability to pay. SBCs provide medical care, mental health therapy, reproductive health care, nutrition, and health education as an integrated part of primary care, as well as community outreach, classroom education and youth engagement. SBCs reduce barriers such as cost, transportation and confidentiality concerns that keep students and their families from seeking health services that they need
